A stand mixer is a big investment. If you are not ready to shell out the big bucks for a mixer, there are options that won’t break the bank.
My goal in making the video was to introduce some of the options that are available in the budget friendly category. These mixers have planetary action just like the big players. Most come with a standard paddle, a whisk, and a dough hook. However, I would limit the use of these mixers to basic batters and whipping tasks. This is because these mixers tend to have plastic housings and the gears are not as robust as more expensive mixers.
Many of these mixers did a nice job on basic whipping and batters. If you plan to make bread, I would suggest investing in a more robust machine. Take a look at my video Stand Mixers Over $200. However, if you are an occasional cook or plan to make basic recipes, a budget friendly mixer might be a good option.
