Franklin’s Barbecue: A Meat Smoking Manifesto – Aaron Franklin: This is the cookbook from the famous Franklin’s BBQ. Their restaurant has a line out the door and down the street every single day.
Meathead: The Science of Great Barbecue and Grilling – Meathead Goldwyn: This is a great book on the science and technique of great barbecue including tips an myths for the Pitmaster or home grilling enthusiast.
Pitmaster: Recipes, Techniques, and Barbecue – Andy Husbands & Chris Hart: The cover of this book says it all: this book will teach you how to master your smoker.
Smokin’ in the Boy’s Room – Melissa Cookston: This cookbook is from the 7 time world champion pitmaster Melissa Cookston. Her team is Yazoo’s Delta Q and we had the pleasure of meeting her on the BBQ circuit. She is one of the best!
Smokin’ Hot in the South – Melissa Cookston: The second book from Melissa Cookston. Just as good as the first one!
Peace, Love & Barbecue – Mike & Amy Mills: One of the best books on the subject. Written by “The Legend” Mike Mills and his daughter.
Cool Smoke: The Art of Great Barbecue – Tuffy Stone: Tuffy Stone is a BBQ master. We had the pleasure of cooking against Tuffy many times over the course of our competition BBQ career. He whipped us so bad that we came home licking our wounds. We were honored, however, to cook in the same competition as one of the best!
Big Bob Gibson’s BBQ Book – Chris Lilly: I had one of the best stuffed potatoes that I’ve ever tasted at Big Bob Gibson’s restaurant. It was so good that I dream about it at night.
The Barbecue Bible – Steven Raichlen: This is a classic book that should be in every cook’s library.
A Taste of Cowboy – Kent Rollins: My first encounter with Kent Rollins was through his YouTube channel. Kent operates an old fashion chuck wagon.
